Summary -

Up the River, Down the River is a pretty simple game to play with not too many rules. Great for when you've got a healthy buzz but aren't quite at that super drunk state yet.

Equipment -

• Deck of cards
• Lots of beer

Set up -

Each player is dealt three cards, placed face up so all players can view all cards.

Game Play -

Dealer deals out three cards one at a time "up the river." If a player has a the same face value of the up river card then he takes one drink for the first up river card, if he has the second river card he takes two, and the third takes three.

Now the game gets fun.

Dealer deals out three cards again one at a time "down the river." If a player the same face value of a down river card they get to dish the drink to any of the other players. One drink for the first card, two for the second, and three for the third.

If no player has the river card either nothing happens or you can be adventurous and have it be a community drink.

Dealer continues to deal three up river and three down river cards until deck is exhausted.

It can be lots of fun to "gang up" on players when dishing up drinks out.
